about alexandrea
alexandrea o'neill was born and raised in california's south bay area. she began her academic journey at san josé city college, where she earned an associate of arts in social and behavioral sciences. she then transferred to the university of california, berkeley, completing a bachelor of arts in sociology with a minor in journalism. during her time at berkeley, alexandrea worked at the daily californian—an independent, student-run, newspaper. there, alexandrea worked one semester as a video producer and another semester as the multimedia editor. she is currently pursuing a master of science in justice studies at san josé state university, centering her thesis work on the intersection between government power and modern surveillance technology. while attending san josé state university, she is working as a graduate assistant, as well as volunteering with the academic student workers union. across her work, alexandrea is drawn to themes of equity, transformation, and collective well-being.
